I am known case of Beta Thalassemia Major. My serum ferritin is 5500 Please guide with the diet plan I should follow to maintain healthy life with less than 500 iron and gain weight.

Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, rice, and beans! These healthy foods contain non-heme iron, which is more difficult to absorb than heme iron. Plus, many of these foods contain oxalates, which actually inhibit iron absorption.
