It is good that you are keeping well in spite of being overweight. However, never wait for diseases to come to start the treatment as high body weight is itself an indicator of several diseases. Gym is a good start for increasing activities in your lifestyle pattern. However, it would be inadequate without proper diet. So start having salads before lunch and dinner, include a fruit daily and try to eat small and frequent meals 5-6 times a day, instead of heavy meals at one go.
