Hi, your dry cough which is mostly viral may not go with an expectorant. Taking foods/ fruits/ juices rich in vitamin c shall help develop your immunity which in turn shall be instrumental in fighting against all such infections/ illnesses. A few things that may help your cough are as follows: (a) warm saline gargling 2 - 3 times daily until your cough subsides. Then after, gargle at least once daily. (b) inhale steam twice daily for 2 - 3 minutes. Continue until your cough subsides. (c) grind a piece of black pepper and mix it with 1 tsp of pure honey - take thrice daily for 3 days. (d) ginger + tulsi tea twice daily. You may add a little lemon juice to it. (e) avoid cold, spicy, fatty food or drinks that may incite or exacerbate your already troubling cough. Hope this helps. You should simply avoid stuff, as mentioned above, should you be allergic to any of them. Do connect with me in private should you require still.
