I have a small hard lump beside my last molar. It is extremely painful. My teeth pains sometimes too if there's food stuck in it. Does it look like cancer?

Hi. It appears that your tooth is infected, you need to visit a dentist & get yourself evaluated by taking an x-ray & other examination. How long has it been there, don?t worry it should not be cancer. But definitely visit your dentist because infection is also not healthy.

Dear Lybrate User, Try not to worry by labelling the lump as Cancer. The lump or swelling might have cropped up due to some infection of the teeth or the gums and needs to be investigated by a dentist. Such lumps or swellings could be thoroughly and easily investigated by your dentist or a specialist dentist and if need be, a biopsy can be done to rule out any malignancy. At this point though, try not to be anxious and immediately get yourself examined by a dentist. Good Luck!
