My wife delivered baby girl. Girl born within 8 month due to hypertension to my wife. After 1 year we r planning for baby. Same situation will prevail for next baby also due to this hypertension. How to avoid hypertension for next baby. Please advice.

Hi, the chance of having a normal pregnancy without any hypertension is still more than having hypertension again. But we have to keep a close eye on the BP with regular monitoring of the BP and urine examination mainly after 5 months of pregnancy. Also there is evidence that Aspiring tablets taken 75 mg once daily from third month of pregnancy helps in preventing the development of hypertension. Calcium supplementation atleast 1.5 to 2g per day in divided doses reduces the chance of hypertension. Hope this is useful.
