Hi Lybrate user, Posttraumatic chronic foot and ankle pain is a pretty common problem. There can be so many reasons for a chronic foot pain after foot and ankle fracture. First, you were on a insufficient duration of plaster for an ankle fracture with your weight. I suppose you were walking on unsupported ankle after six weeks of fracture when going to office. Plaster duration is titrated with patient symptoms in follow ups Plaster removal is done after a short period of weight bearing on plaster trial to decide the right time of plaster removal. Plaster weaning is done gradually with non weight bearing plaster then weight bearing then hard ankle brace then soft support as needed. There can be many reasons for a chronic foot pain after trauma. Lateral foot impingement syndromes CRPS Malalignment /malunion Chronic Bursitis /tendinitis. Neuropathies/neuroma etc. It needs thorough workup with detailed history and clinical examination to catch the right diagnosis and then treatment accordingly. Thanks.

You can put full weight in your heel now. Use all free movement for heel. Means you can stand on your toe hold 10 sec. Then shift your all weight on your heel hols for 10 second repeat these exercises min 25 time thrice a day. Keep your calf muscle also flexible. For that you should do calf strech.
