Hi. Thanks for the query. No single food can cause weight loss. Oil is still fat whether olive or any other. Just because you feel its healthy cant make you justify using any amount of it and it will not help weight loss. Use in moderation and eat healthy and stay active if you want weight loss. You can always opt for seasonal oils...groundnut or mustard or sesame or rice bran are all good.

Hello, The only logic to justify is olive oil is rich in MUFA which is heart friendly,but at the end of the day it does has calories like any other oil so overconsumption is definitely not good.The calorie content of olive oil is same as any other oil.

Olive Oil does not lead to any weight loss. Such myths are just created for marketing only. Total oil per day per person should not be more than 5 teaspoons. This can be any oil be it Olive or Mustard or Groundnut etc. Ensure that your calories intake per day is less than 1600. That way you can lose 2 kgs per month.
