I suffer from recurrent mental disorders that is more socially created than individual. There s a paucity to understand what a patient in question goes through when he is at the worst of the worst and the people surrounding him are almost ignorant or can see only the superficiality of the grave situation that he is in. So what should be done to make the people understand about them severity of the situation that is more socially created than the actual problem an individual might be facing?

Dear lybrate-user. I can understand. You are right. People around will not understand the mental trauma a person goes through and most of the time they ridicule this person. This is human mentality. This is because they are self-centered. But not everyone. There will be always one or two sympathetic people. In your case, I suggest counseling for them. But for you, you should learn to ignore the others because they are not concerned about you. I suggest cognitive therapy for you. Take care.
