Dear lybrateuser, - You can consume but only one portion a day as banana & mango have more natural sugars - you have to do proper exercise after consumption so that the blood sugar remains stable - monitor your sugar level before & after consumption as all the sweet things have a high glycemic index - consult your treating doctor .

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. A person in pre-diabetes state has to adapt a modified lifestyle, if he wants to postpone developing diabetes or preventing it. That means he should refrain from sweets, pastries, bakery items, foods made from maida, fruits like mango, banana, chikkoo, grapes. Dark chocolate is supposed to be good but without sugar in it. In your case with a BMI of 28.4 kgs/M2 (normal <23 kgs/M2), with a good deal of excess weight, you need to be more careful. Reason being one of the main cause for precipitating diabetes is excess weight second is inactivity. Thanks.
