My Mom was detected TB positive through TBferone test, post which my Dr. Prescribed medicine AKT4, which was taken for 50 days by patient. The infection level reduced, but she is experiencing joint pains particularly in knees and it is more while changing the position from sitting to standing and vice versa. Dr. Suggested that it's due to increased uric acid level in body (6.4) due to side effect of medicine, she stopped that medicine and prescribed AKT2 and mentioned pain will go away in a week. When it did not reduce, Dr. Prescribed medicine crytacare 40 mg, patient has been taking this medicine since 10-12 days, but pain has not reduced yet. Kindly suggest what should be best next and how long would it take for pain to go away.
