My wife was taking gliclazide 80 ,1 tab in morning, 1/2 tab in evening and her sugar was under control. One day her sugar went down to 44, and her medicine was stopped. Now eve without any medicine, her readings are 103/155. Is there any need of medication?

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. The current readings mentioned (fbg 103 mg & pp 135 mg/100 ml) are with in normal limit. If these readings are persistent then there is no need for any medication. Please also check the hba1c% after a few weeks, that is also important and if that remains < 6.5% then no medication needs to be given. But do check the glucose levels fairly often, say oce in 15 days. Thanks.
