I chew tobacco and also smoke cigarettes for 8 years but now i'm really worried. I'm having gum pain in last molar gum which gets worse when I touch. I do not see anything suspicious in mirror but still it haunts me of oral and gum cancer from the experience and stories around me. My gum pain is persistent but it gets low for a week then it suddenly sharp and stings for 2 or 3 days. This same cycle is continued since last one month but its not getting better thats why i'm worried because I quit tobacco for one month but its not improving. Is it gum cancer. Please tell me. Help me please.

Pain is either due to inflammation of gums or due to eruption of 3 molar tooth. If the 3 molar is already erupted (not mentioned) then impaction may be a problem. It will be clear by a radiograph. In lower last molar due to food lodgement pericoronitis occurs which is also a reason of pain. Since no white patches has been seen in the mirror there are less chances of oral cancer. If you don't take care you will get oral cancer.
