Dear Lybrateuser, You may be facing acetaldehyde reaction. All your symptoms suggest that. It may be due to certain food and chemicals converting alcohol into acetaldehyde. Since you don't like it, please STOP taking alcohol even on weekends. Tell someone who is there around you about this reaction. Ask them to make you vomit alcohol as soon as you consume. Or you can induce vomiting by yourself. Once alcohol comes out, you will sleep nicely for 2-3 hours and you will be fine till you consume alcohol again.

Practice loving detachment. Discover how you can do that without feeling guilty and without being punitive? Living with an alcoholic is exhausting. You also need time to recover. Practice self-care. Discover what your needs are beyond the needs of the alcoholic. Discover how to take care of yourself even when the other person does not take care of themselves. Avoid self-blame. You can?t control another person?s decisions, and you cannot force them to change. Do not work harder than the person you?re trying to help. The best approach is to not do things for the alcoholic, but instead to be an example of balance and self-care. Being a caretaker is not good for you or for them. Understand that there is only so much you can do. Ask for help. Talk to a professional. Go to a support group. (some support groups are listed below.) so you must meet psychologist for addiction treatment.

If you are not able to tolerate alcohol, then it is evident that alcohol is not for you. Some people are not able to metabolize alcohol due to various factors, one of the main ones being that the enzyme required for its metabolism is missing due to genetic reasons. I believe that you could be taking medications that are making you feel this way if you were able to tolerate alcohol in the past. I hope you consult a psychiatrist and find out what the reason is.
