Hi Doctor, I'm 31, 5'3" 60 kg and in the 12-13th week of pregnancy. I've been told that I may have a risk of short length of cervix which would be tested at 16th week thru scan. Is there anything I can do to avoid the risk in future. Like yoga, or kegel exercise or anything to avoid? Should I be worried. They said worst case scenario is a cervical stitch. I'm scared if this may hamper normal delivery. Suggestions and little positive encouragement please.

Exercise do not help much in prevention of shortening of cervix. But bed rest with foot end elevation help little bit. Cervical encirclage is done when cervix is less than 2.5 cm.with history of cervical incompetence. And don't worry you can have normal delivery after it. What is length of your cervix at present? Have a healthy pregnancy.
