Baby was admitted in a hospital for intestine obstruction, post surgery if he is being kept with other infected infants in NICU then what are chances of getting infection to our baby.

Only the critical babies are kept in NICU. The intention is to have alert monitoring and give quick treatment. Such activity is possible only in the NICUs. If your baby is kept away from you and in NICU, I understand your anxiety, if I were in your place I would have kept my baby at the place I trust and then don't go on thinking about it. My best wishes for you all. There are so many nice life saving activities that happen in NICU and ICUs that I feel they are the safest places amongst all that are available.

Hello dear Ashok Yadav , hi Warm welcome to Lybrate.com I have evaluated your query for your baby thoroughly . * Post surgery NICU is different than routine NICU where all types of infected babies can be there , the post surgical NICU have only & only operated babies , so there are very minimal to nil chances of other cross infections when taken care properly by the institute . * Once your baby recovers from the surgical NICU , demand for isolation room in shifting era so that will give your baby best results . Hope this clears your query . Wishing your toddler fine recovery . Welcome for any further assistance . Regards take care .
