A broken nose is a very common medical condition which includes having a crack or a break in the central bone of the nose. The medical terminology for a nose break is a nasal/ nose fracture. A nose fracture is generally curable, but once damaged, the nose will not appear like it used to do before. This means that the basic shape and structure of the nose will change. The symptoms of a nasal fracture are: pain in the nose while touching, nose bleeding and swelling, swelling near the eyes and around the nose to name a few.
HOW IS BROKEN NOSE DIAGNOSED?
A broken nose usually heals naturally in 2 to 3 weeks and they can often be managed at home. The swelling should go down within a week, and the bruising should disappear after 2 weeks.
