Open pores can hamper the natural beauty of an individual. It can also lead to many complications such as acne and blackheads. This holds good especially for people with oily skin types. In some cases blackheads can make your pores more visible and can appear larger. To overcome the Open Pores, you can use these common home remedies to control them.

  1. Ice:
Ice is the best way to curb large pores due to its skin tightening effect. It is effectively used to minimize large pores before applying a makeup. Also, ice is known for stimulating blood circulation and in the promotion of healthier skin. Wrap a few ice cubes in a clean soft cloth and apply it on your skin for about 15 to 30 seconds. You can do this a few times daily. You can even use cold water and splash your face generously with it and use a mild face wash for cleansing.
  2. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar works as a natural skin toner and tightens your skin to a large extent. They visibly reduce large pores and also restore the pH balance of the skin. Also, it has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help in the prevention of pimples and acne. To use it mix a small cup of apple cider vinegar to a cup of water. Then soak a soft cloth in it and apply it your face. Allow it to rest and rinse off well later. For best results use this procedure every night after cleansing your face.
  3. Egg Whites
Egg whites are also known for shrinking large pores and they are also used in the skin tightening. It is best used for oily skin types. To use it simply beat up an egg white and apply it on your face. Let dry and rinse off. You can use the same by adding a teaspoon of lemon juice to the egg whites.

Are there any side effects?

These home remedies usually show no side effects. But do not use egg whites in high quantities as they can get sticky on your skin. But this is a rare occurrence and they don't cause any other harm. If you are following the ice press method, use treated water and make sure it is free from impurities. Understand the type of skin you have first, and then go for some remedy. You can also consult a skin specialist if you are not sure or feel uncomfortable after completing a remedy. Be careful to use the right quantities while applying apple cider vinegar.

What are the post-remedy guidelines?

Avoid over exposure to the sun after such home remedies. Use sunglasses and umbrellas to protect yourself from UV rays. Whenever you step out, make sure you are covered up well. Always drink plenty of water to keep your skin supple, hydrated and blemish free. After using these remedies, it is better not to apply any skin care product or cosmetics for a brief period. In case the symptoms don't reduce, consult a physician immediately.

How long does it take to recover?

Open pores take time to recover and in most of the cases depend on your skin type. Also, some severe cases may take longer time than usual. Sometimes, scars might be left behind after the pores diminish. But commonly, visible and positive changes can be noticed right after you start using these remedies. Also, consume lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and water to ensure long term benefits. You should consult a doctor if your problems don't go away or in case of any side effects.

Are the results of the remedy permanent?

Open pores can reoccur again even after they have been completely been cured. They can reoccur as per the person’s body condition. Oily skin is also an important reason for such open pores. Hence, make sure you start following these remedies the moment you notice the first symptoms. Take adequate steps to ensure that your skin stays hydrated and protected from the sun. Try to avoid cosmetic and chemical products as in the long run they cause more damage than good. These treatments can be followed in the long run too, as they are very safe.

Is there any training or experts required?

No specific expertise is required but it is mandatory to know one's skin type before undergoing such treatments. Sanitize your hands before touching your skin. If you are unsure of the remedy, consult a dermatologist. Skin reactions are common. Hence make it a point to know your allergic reactions before undergoing such treatments.

5 Best Ways To Prevent Open Pores On Skin!

The term 'open pores' refers to the pores on the skin that are larger and more prominent than rest. Sometimes even particular types of acne fall under this dermatological condition. Mainly visible on the T-zone and the surrounding area of the cheeks, open pores are dilated openings of the oil glands and more likely to affect people with oily skin types. As a result of the unchecked secretions of oil through the early years, open pores become worse with age. Below are some of the most efficient yet easy home remedies that can help one to prevent open pores and achieve a flawless skin.

Apple Cider Vinegar
A natural skin-toner and astringent, apple cider vinegar can be an excellent home remedy for restoring the pH balance of the skin, reducing large pores and tightening the skin. The anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties of apple cider vinegar also help to treat unwanted acne breakouts, which can sometimes result from open pores.

Sugar Scrub
When it comes to reducing open pores to get a smooth blemish free skin, sugar scrub is one of the most popular home remedies. You can exfoliate the skin and remove excess oil as well as other impurities and dead cells by using a sugar scrub mixed with honey or lemon juice. This scrub can do wonders in preventing open pores.

Ice
One of the simplest yet most efficient home remedies for treating open pores is applying ice on the skin. Ice helps in shrinking large pores and makes the skin firm. Widely used before applying makeup on the skin, ice is also known to promote blood circulation and thus adds a healthy glow. Adding cucumber juice, rose water or apple juice to the water while making ice cubes can prove to be a more beneficial home remedy for open pores.

Egg White
Another effective remedy that is known to shrink enlarged pores is an even paste of oatmeal, egg white, and lemon juice applied twice a week. Not only that, egg white simply by itself, tones and tightens the skin and reduces open pores. Face masks made with egg whites can also be used for treating virulent acnes.

Baking Soda
A rather gentle exfoliating agent for the skin, baking soda comes with anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties which play a crucial role in protecting the tender skin against the invasion of acne and pimples. Besides helping to remove grime, dead cells and other impurities from the skin, it maintains the pH balance of the skin by maintaining the acid content.

Open pores on facial skin are a serious beauty concern for many. However, it is important to understand that pores are natural components of the skin. Minimizing the appearance of the imperfections, such as large open pores, is certainly possible with the help of the remedies as mentioned earlier; but, making them go away permanently may not be possible. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dermatologist.

  2. Apple cider vinegar: Apple cider vinegar can be used as a skin toner and natural astringent. It tightens skin, reduces enlarged pores and restores the skin’s natural chemical balance. Visible Pores On Your Skin - Ways To Treat Them!

Visible Pores On Your Skin - Ways To Treat Them!

Pores are openings in the skin through which your body's natural oil, called sebum, is released. They appear larger when they are clogged with dirt or oil, and are home to hair follicles. Dead skin cells and sebum which, put together, form a pimple can stretch out pores. Aging and exposure to the harmful UV-rays of the sun also contribute to the appearance of pores on your skin. Pores can be controlled with the right skin care.

Here's how:
1. Choose your skin care products wisely
Zinc and magnesium help to maintain your skin's oil balance and clear pores. Products with softening ingredients like rosemary and lavender may soothe your skin and prevent pores from stretching out. You should use products with salicylic acid as an ingredient since it unclogs pores, exfoliating your skin.

2. Maintain cleanliness
Washing your face temporarily stops your pores from holding extra oil or dirt. Exfoliating two to three times a week can also control the cropping up of pores on your skin. However, these are temporary methods because you will have large pores naturally if your skin is oily.

3. Applying sunscreen
Exposure to the harmful UV-rays of the sun for too long can make your pores look bigger. Applying sunscreen on the face and on exposed areas of your skin with SPF 30 can minimize your pores. Also, wear a broad-brimmed hat and withdraw stepping out in the sun between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

4. Treating the spot
Oily skin tends to have larger and more noticeable pores. Some areas of your face may be oilier making the pores visible. A clay mask can be used for spot treating if the pores on your nose, cheeks or forehead are large. Apply a thin layer of the mask on your skin and rinse it off with water after a few minutes. The clay extracts the extra oil out of your clogged pores so that the skin looks sleek. Using blotting paper on your oily areas can also be effective.

5. Maintain a proper diet
Avoid food that is oily and high in fat because unhealthy oil can agitate the skin leading to clogged pores. You should eat low-fat foods like fruits and vegetables instead of munching on chips, cookies and candies.

6. Remove Makeup before going to bed
One of the biggest blunders that you can do is to leave your makeup on and go to bed. Leaving makeup on clogs your pores, stretching them out over time. Even if you forget to wash off your makeup at the sink due to some reasons, make sure that you at least remove it with face wipes. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dermatologist.

The best way to get rid of clogged pores is to follow a good daily skin care regimen. Regular exfoliation of your skin will remove dead skin cells, oil, dirt and other impurities that lead to clogged pores. Many home remedies can help you get rid of clogged pores so you can enjoy smoother, younger-looking skin. Steaming the face is an inexpensive and highly effective remedy for clogged pores. Steaming opens the clogged pores and allows all kinds of impurities trapped inside to be washed away. Sugar works as a natural exfoliating agent to help break up scar tissue and unclog skin pores. Fuller’s earth also helps to get rid of clogged pores. It acts like a sponge, drawing out the substances that clog pores. Plus, fuller’s earth is highly beneficial for oily skin as it can reduce excess oil secretion and leave your skin feeling incredibly clean and healthy. Lemons can also be used to keep the skin free from clogged pores. The citric acid present in lemons helps exfoliate the skin and clean out dirt and oil that clogs the pores. You can even consult a dermatologist to help you with various laser treatments available such as MDA, skin peels, Fractional Co2 etc.

Hello •Start by cleaning your skin using a special cleansing gel or oil. Do not use products that contain alcohol or acid since they can damage your skin further. Steam your face for about 10-15 minutes to open clogged pores. Add a few drops of basil or rosemary in the water for a rejuvenating effect. •Next, gently exfoliate your skin. Use a gentle face scrub of a known brand. You could even make your own natural scrub by combining ground sugar and a little milk! This process will help you remove dirt, dead cells, blackheads and whiteheads that block your skin. •The third step involves using a good toner that would close the open pores, thus diminishing their appearance. Along with closing pores, toners also help to remove soap residue and makeup, which often render a large appearance to the pores. •Finally, use a light moisturizer, preferably a water-based one that would reduce the oiliness of your skin.

Dandruff is caused by:

Increased Anxiety In Expectant Parents || Causes & Remedies
Hello friends!

I am Dr Nisha Agarwal working as Head of the department in obstetrics and gynaecology at VPS Rockland Hospital, Manesar. As an obstetrician, I routinely treat pregnant ladies.

In last few years I have realised that there is a lot of increase in the anxiety of expecting parents, what about my pregnancy what about medical complications, whether it would be a vaginal delivery or caesarean sections and lot many more. I don't blame them, actually we are living in a digitalised where lots of information is available and we read them and interpret them accordingly. I feel most of us have actually forgotten the true meaning of pregnancy and childbirth, to relieve all this anxiety and to make them independent to tackle are their delivery and pregnancy related issues I teach birth prep classes to my parents. In these classes, I teach them about birth Psychology, after attending these classes expecting parents especially husbands they understand their rule during these 9 months and they are able to make this beautiful journey, as a smooth and peaceful as it should be. As a gynecologist I come across problems like menstrual disorders, ovarian cyst, uterine fibroids and many more, many of times we need to do surgical procedures for these kinds of problems. Here I would like to say the progress in medical science is a boon to humanity and especially for women. Gone are the days when you have to be at the month of open surgery, these days we do all gynaecological procedures by a laparoscopic technique. We all know in laparoscopy we do not cut open your abdomen in fact, we made two or three small holes through which we pass our instruments and complete the procedures via these pores only. In the laparoscopy we get a very magnifying view because of which the injury to adjacent discharge is very much reduced, blood loss is quite minimised and in all these ultimately lead to very short stay in the hospital, the post of pain is very less and the recovery is very fast and you can resume your routine activities very soon. In fact, in few surgeries, we do it as a day care procedures, where we admit you and discharge on the same day and you can resume your all routine activities from the very next day. Here at VPS Rockland Hospital, I do all ovarian cyst removals, fibroid removal, hysterectomies and even gynaecological Cancer Surgery via this technique. We also treat couples who are not able to conceive for these kinds of patients I do detail consultation and then try to find out the cause and then treat them accordingly. Here at this hospital, we are doing all procedures like oblation destruction, intrauterine insemination and in vitro fertilization too. But many of times we found there is no cause and actually it is your dietary pattern, your lifestyle changes and day to day stress in your life which is leading to all these problems.

So whenever you go for these treatments please work on these issues also along with heart treatment for any further queries or enquiries you can contact me on lybrate. Thank you.

Homeopathy Constitutional Remedies
Know how Homeopathy constitutional remedies can cure Chronic cases

Hi, I m Dr. Monty Talwar, practicing in Gurgaon, I have an experience of about 20 years in homeopathy, I practice classical homeopathy wherein we take into account the patient s nature and temperament especially in chronic cases. The constitutional cases are very deep-acting and they will stimulate the immune system of the patient. Thereby, the patient s body fights on its own, so we are not providing a continuous stimulus or a medicine from outside as the body takes charge of itself.

The example in thyroid cases, especially in hypothyroidism when we give the constitutional medicine it stimulates the thyroid gland so that it starts secreting the hormone on its own. As a result, the patient can be off the thyroid medicine. Similarly, in frequent colds and coughs in children where they fall sick too often, so these medicines build up the immunity of the child, so that they do not fall sick that often. Because of this individualistic approach, homeopathy is considered to be a holistic science.

If you have any queries or require a consultation with me you can consult me on Lybrate. Thank You.
