Home Remedies For Blemishes: Procedure, Recovery, Risk & Complication

What is the remedy about?

The home remedies for blemishes are very simple and can be done easily by anyone with some of the very common things that we all have at home. Blemishes occur due to acne and remain as a dark spot on your skin. Apart from acne, they can also occur due to hormonal irregularities. Whatever the reason is, you can treat them easily with these home remedies. The most effective and easiest remedy is applying the lemon juice. Lemon juice is a very good exfoliating agent because of the high concentration of citric acid in it. It kills the bacteria which causes acne and removes any extra oil from the skin. If you have large pores on your skin, then nothing can be better than lemon juice as it can completely reduce them. Just massage your skin with some lemon juice and keep it there for a few minutes after which you can wash it away. Another very good home remedy for blemishes is a tomato. Tomato is very well-known for its anti-oxidant content and vitamin C. Due to its astringent properties it can reduce the large pores on your skin and help you get rid of acne. Apart from removing blemishes, they are of additional advantage if you want to remove suntan. All you need to do is take some tomato pulp and massage your skin gently with it. And if you are not happy with the above two, you can also try apple cider vinegar which is a very famous remedy for all types of skin problems. It has alpha hydroxyl acids which can reduce those ugly dark spots and help you fight the blemishes. Since it is very concentrated it is better to mix it with some water and then apply on your face.

Are there any side effects?

To be precise there are no side effects if you know which remedy is right for you. Natural remedies are always considered as safe. And they are but in case if you have any unknown allergy then home remedies may cause side-effects. So it is always suggested by even dermatologists that you use the remedy in small amounts first and then increase the dosage. In this way, you can stay safe. Among the home remedies that is mentioned earlier, lemon has been used for ages for treating blemishes. But you must know certain things otherwise even these remedies can produce unwanted side-effects. Firstly lemon juice should not be applied on any kind of pimples. Many people complain that after applying lemon juice their pimple is bleeding. This is bound to happen as lemons are not for curing pimples because of their acidic nature. But is you are still unsure and not feeling safe to applying lemon on your face you can always dilute it with tomato juice or water and then apply it. Also, use only fresh lemon juice. On the other hand, even over-use of tomatoes on your skin can cause damage. Tomato contains lycopene which is good only when applied in small amounts. And apple cider vinegar has citric acid just like lemons. So increased use may cause rashes and reddening of your skin. Apart from all these remedies, there are many others and all of them should be applied after proper knowledge of your skin type and also the properties of that product.

What are the post-remedy guidelines?

If you want a good post-remedy guideline, then there is nothing better than making a regular plan for your skin care. Good and clear skin doesn’t happen in a few days. It requires nourishment for a considerable time. Your lifestyle habits also determine the quality of your skin. And most importantly, if you don’t want your blemishes to return then taking care of your skin is a must. Stop taking stress as it directly affects your skin and can lead to acne. Have a good amount of sleep every day. Always apply a good sunscreen before going out in the Sun as the ultraviolet rays can affect your skin very badly. Use aloe vera gel. It is very good for the skin and it has antibacterial properties which will keep away the acne-causing bacteria. Use baking soda if you are comfortable with it as it is an excellent exfoliating agent. Such consistent care can help maintain the results of the remedy.

How long does it take to recover?

The time for recovery varies. If you apply the right remedy then it is possible that you may get rid of your blemish within one or two weeks. But the spots will take time to disappear. However, choosing the right remedies is very important. If you apply something which is allergic for you, it will only aggravate the blemishes. After that, you will take more time to recover. Even if it takes a long time, be patient and don’t pick your blemish at any cost. Slow and steady is the byword when it comes to home remedies.

Are the results of the remedy permanent?

It totally depends on you. If you can take care of your skin even after the blemish has disappeared then it is permanent but one step in the wrong direction and your blemishes will be back. So be careful about your skin care plan and especially your lifestyle habits. You should also maintain your diet. All these may seem small factors but together as one they can influence a lot. So do regular exercise, stay fit and take care of your skin.

Is there any training or experts required?

No training or experts are required for these home remedies. With a little bit of care and mindfulness, you can achieve very good results. But you need to be patient and also do nothing without any proper knowledge. Read all the instructions carefully and then apply home based products on your skin. Do a patch test if you are in doubt whether the product will suit you or not. Take a friend’s help who knows all these things better than you. Remember, nothing can be better than home remedies but you only need to know the right procedure.

Facial Rejuvenation: Advantages of Dermal Fillers For Perfect Skin!
Facial aging is an issue which shows its first signs around the late twenties and early thirties. It is manifested in the form of fine lines, dark circles, wrinkles and rough skin, especially near the eyes and lips. This process cannot be reversed. It is a part of human body and the way the skin matures with age. But, it can be treated through surgical and non-surgical or natural means to make sure that the process of aging is slowed down. Factors Affecting Facial Aging: There are several factors which affect the facial aging and aggravate the process faster. Some of these factors are: If you smoke excessively, your face would sooner or later start showing signs of aging prematurely. At times, this process gains speed due to genetic issues. Stress and anxiety are the most important reasons for a person to start showing signs of aging at an early stage of life. If you lead a hectic lifestyle which involves excessive travelling throughout different climates, the exhaustion may be manifested through facial aging. What are Dermal Fillers? Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face. As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles are then working closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow's feet become more apparent. The facial skin also stretches a bit, adding to this loss of facial volume. Other factors that affect the facial skin include sun exposure, heredity, and lifestyle. Dermal fillers can be used to: Plump thin lips Enhance shallow contours Soften facial creases and wrinkles Improve the appearance of recessed scars Dermal fillers can be very helpful in those with early signs of aging, or as a value-added part of facial rejuvenation surgery. Administration: You must make a note of the fact that dermal filling is not considered to be a type of surgical treatment. However, it does use anaesthesia while being administered. In fact, the patient is first given a dose of anaesthesia and left to rest for about half an hour. Some fillers have anesthesia in the syringe itself otherwise, we apply numbing cream or topical anesthesia. Thereafter, dermal fillings are applied with the help of fine needles. You need to realise that the use of fine needles with precision can be done only by those who have been specially trained for it. Thus, if your dermatologist recommends you for a treatment of dermal filling, then he/she ought to be a trained expert in carrying out the procedure. If you, on your own prefer to get this treatment done, then you should also find an expert who is well trained in administering this procedure. Thus, dermal fillers are quite famous in the world of facial dermatology to reverse the aging process. It helps in reducing fine lines, wrinkles and adds volume and smoothness to the skin.

Appendectomy - Long Term Complications Associated With It!
What is an Appendectomy? An appendectomy (which is sometimes referred to appendicectomy ) is the surgical elimination of the organ known as the appendix. Appendectomy is mostly performed as an emergency surgical procedure, when patients suffer from appendicitis. How is Appendectomy Performed? Appendectomy can be performed both as an open operation as well as laparoscopically. An appendectomy is most often performed laparoscopically, if the diagnosis is in doubt, or if the patients feel that they need to hide their telltale surgical scars near their umbilicus or in the pubic hair line. However, although laparoscopic appendectomy has its cosmetic advantages, and its recovery time is a little quicker, this procedure is more expensive than conventional open surgery. Conventional Open Appendectomy- In the conventional open surgery, the surgeon makes an incision which is less than 3 inches in length in the lower right section of the abdomen. Once the infected appendix is identified, the surgeon separates the infected appendix from its surrounding tissues and removes it surgically from the cecum (an intraperitoneal pouch that forms the junction of the small and large intestine). After that, the cecum is closed and is returned back into the abdomen. In the end, the muscle layers and the skin are sewn together and the incision is closed. Laparoscopic Appendectomy (LA)- While performing appendectomy laparoscopically, which is also known as LA, four incisions of 1 inch in length are made in the abdomen. One incision is made near the umbilicus, while another one is made in an appropriate region between the umbilicus and the pubis. The other two incisions, which are even smaller in size, are made in the right side of the lower abdomen. The surgeon then passes the camera and special laparoscopy instruments through these openings and after identifying, frees the appendix from its surrounding tissues. Next, the appendix is removed from the cecum and the site of its former attachment is sewed. The infected appendix is removed from the body of the patient through any one of the two 1 inch incisions. In the end, the laparoscopic instruments are removed and the incisions are sutured and closed. During this whole procedure, the intraperitoneal space is filled with medical grade carbon dioxide gas, to inflate the abdomen, which is released after the surgery. Recovery Time For Appendectomy- The recovery time for appendectomy depends on and varies with the type of procedure and anesthesia used during the surgery. While laparoscopic appendectomy can be done on an outpatient basis so that the patients can recover back at home, an open surgical procedure will require an overnight or even longer hospital stay. Normally patients after appendectomy can resume their normal daily activities within a few days. However, for full recovery, it may take four to six weeks. Patients are advised to avoid strenuous activities during this period of time. Risk and Long Term Consequences of Removing the Appendix- While wound infections are the most common complications of this surgery, formation of an abscess in the area of the surgical incision and also in the area close to the removed appendix has also been noticed as an aftermath of appendectomy. Other rare complications may include lack of intestinal peristalsis (ileus), gangrene of the bowel, injuries to the internal organs and infections in the peritoneal cavity (peritonitis). Major long-term consequences of appendectomy include increased risks of bowel obstruction, stump appendicitis (infection in the retained portion of the appendix still stuck with the cecum) and development of incisional hernia at the site of the scar.

Eat These 5 Foods And You Will Never Need Botox!
What you eat has a direct effect on your skin; eat healthy and your skin looks healthy, eat unhealthy food and your skin looks dull. Eating right can even fight signs of aging thus, negating the need for procedures like Botox. Not only does it cost less, but healthy food boosts your overall health as well. Here are 6 such foods that can help you fight signs of aging and give you a flawless complexion. Turmeric: Turmeric is well known for its yellow colour and anti-inflammatory properties. Many home remedies suggest the use of turmeric for a number of health ailments including skin conditions. Turmeric can fight signs of aging by reducing inflammation and oxidation. This, in turn, helps the skin heal faster. This spice can be added to your food or mixed with warm milk to benefit from it. Tomatoes: Tomatoes are rich sources of vitamin C and lycopene. Vitamin C helps stimulate the production of collagen and hence keeps the skin firm while lycopene protects the skin against harmful UV radiation. As a general rule of thumb, the deeper red the tomato is, the better it is. Berries: Berries such as blueberries and raspberries are excellent sources of Vitamin E and antioxidants that fight against the effects of pollution and rids the body of free radicals and other toxins that cause premature aging. These berries also have anthocyanins that boost the effects of vitamin C Honey: Honey can be eaten or applied topically on the skin to benefit from it. Honey helps keep the body hydrated by absorbing moisture and preventing the skin from drying out. It also has antibacterial properties that prevent acne and other breakouts. Ideally, honey should be used and consumed in its raw, unprocessed form. Nuts: Nuts are a great snack that keeps your skin looking young and fresh. Almonds are excellent sources of vitamin E that help fight acne, psoriasis and eczema among other skin ailments. Walnuts are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids that keep the skin soft and supple. Brazil nuts are also rich sources of vitamin E. However, keep in mind the high calorific value of these nuts and do not overindulge in them. Avocados: Avocados are filled with essential fatty acids that moisturize and nourish skin. They are also rich in Vitamin B, C and E. While vitamin C boosts collagen production, vitamin E maintains the elasticity of skin and prevents sagging.
