Fat - Is It Possible To Lose It From Specific Places?

It is often a misconception that you can lose fat from a specific place. If you lose fat from the body, then the fat loss would be from the entire body and won’t be restricted to a specific area of your body. Exercise and diet combined together form an effective tool which you can use to lose fat from your entire body.

The fat in the body is stored in the form of triglycerides, which the body cannot break down for energy. The triglycerides are first broken down to glycerol and fatty acids, which are then released into the bloodstream, following which they can be used as energy. 

Initially the body uses the available carbohydrates present in the blood for energy; fat is only used as fuel after the carbohydrates supply is exhausted. Hence, prolonged steady state exercise, such as jogging for 50-60 minutes is an efficient method of burning fat. Another strategy you may employ to lose fat from your body is by a method called high intensity interval training. 

High intensity interval training (HIIT) is increasingly becoming the new fad in fat loss. This method utilizes a concept where you do an exercise at full thrust for a short time of 20-30 seconds followed by a short rest period of 10-15 seconds; this comprises of one set. Repeat for another 9 to 10 sets for a proper HIIT workout. The idea is to burn energy during the exercise and after the exercise is complete.

The exercises in HIIT are done at full throttle which means your heart rate centers around an anaerobic zone and this creates an oxygen shortage in the body. An effect called EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption) is induced in the body that results in an elevated metabolism for up to 24-48 hours after the workout. So you would be burning fat simply by doing nothing.

The fat loss process occurs when the fat cells around the body shrink. Doing body specific exercise such as crunches to lose fat from the stomach does not work and will only work the muscle underneath the fat. Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical technique that exfoliates the top layer of skin with tiny crystals. In doing so, it helps treat fine lines, acne and tightens the skin. The effects of microdermabrasion are subtle and you may need up to ten sessions to see a noticeable difference.

INTRAgen

intragenic is a skin treatment method that utilizes the radio frequency device. This method works very well for the purposes of skin toning, tightening and rejuvenation. As it works on radio frequency method, it penetrates the deepest layer of the dermis and remodels the existing collagen. Moreover, it also stimulates neo-collagen and effectively tones and tightens the skin.

HiFu is a non-invasive method of skin treatment that uses the ultrasound to tighten, tone and also lift the sagging skin on the face. it is also called “non surgical facelift” or skin tightening by some experts and people. Nonablative Laser

Light Therapy
Like lasers, intense pulsed light therapy can be used to address the dermis.   • Shampoos having ketoconazole, selenium sulfide, zinc pyrithione, coal tar, salicylic acids and tea-tree oil helps in impeding or eliminating dandruff.
  • Always read the instructions before using any shampoo to check if it's suitable for you and also see how often it should be applied.

I have prescribed my patients anti-dandruff arnica shampoo (homeopathic shampoo) and find its result notable.

  • Getting the perfect shampoo for your dandruff may take some experiment, so try these shampoos for a month to see if your dandruff improves. You might need to experiment with more than one shampoo to find one that suits your scalp.
  • Sometimes alternating two shampoo types may also help.
  • Leaving the shampoo in hair for at least two to three minutes before washing will help you much.
  • You may be able to use the shampoo less often once your dandruff improves.
  • Moisturize your scalp as dry scalp tends to flake more. Restoring moisture to the scalp can help you with itchiness. Coconut oil is a great pick from your dressing table as it has moisturizing as well as antibacterial properties.

Since it is a growing concern, it is recommended the patient follows a proper diet that can help in keeping the cholesterol level in the blood under control. To make such a best diet, below are few necessary and practical tips.

Opt For Healthier Fats
One must remember that the saturated fat found in the dairy products and red meat raise the level of the bad cholesterol or LDL, instead of reducing it. Receiving around 7 percent of the regular calorie need of the body is necessary from saturated fats. Therefore, one needs to opt for healthier saturated fats, such as canola or olive oils, monounsaturated fat products, low-fat dairy products, etc.

Add Omega 3 Fatty Acid Rich Foods
To make your diet a cholesterol reducer, try eating foods that are rich in omega 3 fatty acid. Though this particular fat is not associated with affecting the LDL cholesterol, it helps in the good cholesterol or HDL level in the blood, reducing both the triglycerides in the blood and blood pressure. Walnuts, ground flaxseeds, almonds, fishes like salmon, herring and mackerel are a few good sources of omega 3 fatty acid.

Any pattern of loosing weight should not be vigorous. Only liquid diet or starvation may result into gall stones. Only protein diet may cause renal problems. High uric acid results into four and arthritis and renal problems. Keri diet under supervision is not the bad idea for steady loss of weight. In your mother's case it is tremendous weight loss and it is not good.

Poor immunity & resistence is one of the reasons for a person to catch a cold & cough frequently. Allergy is the other reason. An antihistaminic tablet along with an antitussive for dry cough or an expectorant for wet cough should help you. If fever occurs every time you get a cold and cough then a complete blood examination may be needed.

1- Mr. lybrate-user first & foremost thing is leave worries and feel good you are free from all disease according to science but according to you it's different. Your condition is somatization/ depression/ stress. So don't go for further medical investigation as all will come normal. 2- But nobody helps to send you the place where you should consult because you might feel discrimination. 3- Don't hesitate to consult a Psychiatrist, SCB medical college Cuttack is having well equipped Department. 4- Meet a psychologist so that you might avoid medicine that doesn't mean you should not take medication but make sure for first few days you go for few medication. 5- Enjoy life with your friends and try to leave life as a flow, talk to your close one whomever you share your emotions and try to leave life's recent adverse conditions as it is.

For stamina n energy, you should have a wholesome diet with enough proteins (eggs, fish, chicken, milk & its products, nuts -seeds etc) and good quality fats (rich in MUFA-PUFA) and moderate carbohydrate intake with focus on high fibre. Hydrate yourself properly and include enough fresh fruits and vegetables. Do not have long gaps between meals and do not skip meals at all. Have a good breakfast before you leave for work with source of protein in it. Workout for 45 mins daily be it brisk walk, any sport, swimming,etc .Some exercise while sitting at the desk would be useful too. For antioxidants have variety of fresh fruits and vegetables and the right cooking oil, fish, nuts and oilseeds for omega 3 fatty acids. He is having an allergic bronchitis / wheezing bronchitis. If he is breathless he will have to be nebulised with a steroid & a bronchodilator combination. An expectorant cough syrup along with an antihistaminic syrup should help in controlling the cough.
