Dear, dietary modification are always better & give long term relief. To get rid of acidity eat small, frequent meals (4-5 times a day), avoid spicy, oily / fatty food, maida containing food items, fruit juices/ sugary drinks/tea/coffee. Increase intake high fibre diet. Take light dinner. Drink plenty of water, go for walk/do light exercise. Take care & update.
