Being underweight reduces immunity causing higher incidences of infections & diseases, weakness, lower productivity. In order to gain weight in a healthy way, 1. Have small frequent meals (2-3 hrs interval) instead of 3-4 large ones 2. Drink 3 litres water daily 3. Avoid having water with or just before meal or having heavy/ unhealthy snacks as these can curb appetite 4. Include foods low in volume but high in nutrient & calorie density-paneer, cheese, almond milkshake, mango juice, til ladoo, peanut chikki, stuffed parathas, malt with milk & sugar, premix, omlette/egg curry, chicken roll, soyabean cutlet, fatty fish. 5. Have cow/buffalo milk & products, white rice with ghee,thicker rotis with ghee, peanut butter, jam/jelly 6. Practice strength exercises to increase muscle mass & appetite
