I am 20 years old female, I have cavities which had started when I was in 7th grade. It appeared as a small black spot on one of my teeth. It went away after a few days so I didnt pay much attention to it and it was left untreated till now. Now it has spread and a black line has developed above and below my gums. The cavity is empty and my teeth have become sensitive. I have no idea what to do. Can it lead to some internal problem or can it be fatal? what should I do doctor?

You should go for filling of those cavities. And it will solve your sensitivity problem also. If you leave it like that then in future cavities will spread deeper and you will have to go for root canal or extraction of that tooth. So get it filled soon to save your teeth.

Dental cavities can never be fatal so relax. Since you have started the sensitivity one small xray will be needed of the tooth affected to see if root canal is needed or not. Even if the root canal is needed its a routine procedure with high success rates up to 90 percent. So just visit your dentist and treat it early to save the tooth for better prognosis.
