My mother's name is sreeja. She is 41 years old and she has blood sugar level 230. Blood sugar level increased above normal after she got admitted in hospital for dengue fever. Dr. told that it came from medicine. How it will be normal again without taking any medicines. Can you please help me.

If diabetes has developed following certain drugs as mentioned, some times when the drug which has caused it, if discontinued, sugar levels may be reduced or even become normal. So it is very difficult to tell whether the diabetes can be controlled without drug or not. It will be good if a complete diabetic profile is done - fasting, pp hba1c% and even lipid profile. Report the same then I will be able to guide. In the mean time she should avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods and pastries and sweetened aerated drinks. Consume more of green leafy vegetables and salads. Take care with regards.
