Dear lybrate-user, cortisol is the stress hormone. Cortisol is released whenever anyone is under stress. We tend to feel stress unnecessarily and that cortisol is not used and it will become toxic to the system. The body finds it difficult to remove these toxins adding to further stress. That is why exercise is extremely important. Cortisol also curbs functions that would be nonessential or harmful in a fight-or-flight situation. It alters immune system responses and suppresses the digestive system, reproductive system, and growth processes. This complex natural alarm system also communicates with the brain regions that control mood, motivation, and fear. 9 things to detoxify:- 1.exercise:- sweating helps in cleaning up cells and cleanse your body 2.expressing:- the moment you express your feelings half the stress the released and the rest is managed by handling the situation. 3.sleep:- less than 6 hrs of sleep will increase a lot of diseases in humans. 4.meditation: it helps cleanse your emotions. 5. saltwater meditation:- half a cup of water and half a spoon of salt are required.
