I was bitten by a dog at leg 70 days ago and instantly got vaccinated without immunoglobulin. I was very anxious and panicked and started alprazolam. Since last twenty days my mouth is watered more, but no need to spit always. I am tapering 1/4 from 0.25 mg alprazolam for 5 days. I have huge gas tendencies constitutionally and now very little nausea. Can rabies develop through twenty days like this? If not how long tapering side effects may last? Please help me.

If you had vaccinated -after check up by a doctor-he had given you vaccination with out immunoglobulin —based on grading of your exposure—moreover rabies symptoms are not as described by you-with 20 days of excess salivating etc-as per medical literature the symptoms increase quickly with fear about water and very grave other symptoms with in few days—so as per modern medical knowledge you are having some other health problems including anxiety and depression and related disorders-kindly be confident and optimistic-take help of a good psychiatrist-psychologist-psychiatric health worker team with counselling and medication support for the symptoms —related to severe anxiety—ok.
