Dear lybrate-user, it is well known that anxiety of doctor, what she/he will say, hospital/clinic atmosphere, etc raises bp and other anxiety symptoms like fast heart beat. Please continue telma am 40 regularly and go to doctor on a planned day for check up - not for your symptoms. Your doctor knows that it is anxiety bp and so will prescribe for your home reading of bp only. However, please take therapy or anxiolytics or yoga/pranayama to reduce your distress and add quality to your life.

Dear lybrate user, Blood pressure is not a stable one. It's like a roller coaster- always fluctuating nature. Everybody is experiencing variations in bp in a single day. The problem in your case is the excessive fear and rumination of getting an illness (hypertension). Avoid checking bp frequently at once, this behavior will only increase your anxiety and thereby elevate your blood pressure. High bp at the doctor's office is only a temporary phenomena due to anticipatory anxiety. Better get your bp checked monthly once in your doctor's office. Discard the bp apparatus and engage yourself in health-related behaviors like yoga, walking etc.,
