Hello Doctor, Am 25years old male. I am scaring of jaundice because past two weeks am feeling like urine is light yellow. If I drink more water urine in clear (white), If I do not drink water more urine is yellow. Past two weeks climate also hot. Am working in IT, so am working under AC room. So day time drinking more water urine is normal. When I get up morning urine color is light yellow. Am thinking to take take bilirubin test. But before going that that is it serious or its normal. I just want to know why urine is yellow when am not drinking more water.

Good think at this age you are health conscious. You know the water contain of your body is 70% of your total wt. So any less water intake your urine will be concentrated thereby the yellow colouration thevdailynwater intake required by an adult young individual is 7 8 glass of full water. Minimum more no harm. If your appetite is less and you feel easily fatigue and tired and your skin is also starts getting ye l oowish may be slight fever etc then it could be viral hepatitis or jaundice but there is no harm in getting serum bilirubin level in the blood can be done.
