I am a 23 year old male. I have pain from lower waist to the left leg. This is what my mri report says- "1. Mild to moderate posterior central and left paracentral disc extrusion at l4 l5 level, indenting thecal sac, attenuating lateral recess, causing compression over left l5 traversing nerve root. 2. Mild diffuse disc bulge with posterocentral disc protrusion at l5-s1 level, indenting thecal sac, attenuating lateral recess with no obvious nerve root compression. According to the doctor, surgery is the only option. Is surgery my only option? What kind of doctor should I consult?
