Like paroxetine comes in two types-film coated (10,20,30,40)mg and controlled release mg (12.5,25,37.5). Which series is more frequently used ?is it possible that the film coated tablets have side effects like headache, restlessness,agitation and sleeplessness? I suffer from long term anxiety and ocd.

control released.. if you miss the dose there are withdrawal symptoms like headache , restlessness sleep disturbance

Dear Rishab, Film coated or CR types are used according to the availability and comfort of taking the tablet. Side Effects like headache, restlessness, agitation and sleeplessness may be due to paroxetine itself rather than coating. Coating may cause some kind of allergy. It is done to increase the bioavailability of the medicine to you. If you want, please try CR drug without altering the prescribed dose.
