Hello, I am asking for an advice from a neurologist. (english isn't my native language apologies for the grammar). My mother had a car accident 18 years ago. Disc between c5 and c6 fractured and the content went on the spinal cord and calcified. 8 years after, she received surgery (they connected both of the vertebrae and cleaned up calcification.) her quality of life, is terrible. She doesn't leave the house, is on disability pension, does very few things, doesn't move her neck at all. Complains of the following current symptoms. - spasm throughout the abdominal region. (complete belly) - nausea in the head (this is how she describes it) - tingles, and general unwell feeling. Due to too much spare time, she spent a lot of time on the internet. Her therapy during first 10 years, was benzodiazepines. Some standard therapy dose for muscle relaxants. She read how they aren't good, so decided to withdraw on her own, resulting in abstinential crisis. Now she claims, that her gaba receptors are destroyed. And this abdominal spasm is the symptom. We have seen various doctors, they all dispute that what she is feeling is due to physical factors. One doctor mentioned that it is impossible to have full abdominal spasm due to her neck injury (that was as well operated) or even if those gaba receptors were in a way injured, that she would recover from that. There isn't any way for me to check all of this. She won't leave the house, and won't listen to any doctor. I had a call today with a neuropsychiatric, I don't know if her symptoms are something due to physical injury or she needs psychiatrist care. My question is. Can you have full abdominal spasm due to injury on c5, c6, c7. Or due to permanent damage to gaba receptors (from benzodiazepine abuse) any kind of insight helps.

C567 are localized upto the region ofoccipital protuberance (behind your neck) if she has weakness of all four limbs then you can think of c5, 6,7 involvement.
