Dear doctor, thanks for your personal advise you gave this afternoon. I repeat my problem seeking your advise of medicines. My sugar levels are coming down by early mornings daily how much ever good my night meal is. My hemoglobin level is also 7.7.i stopped all my diabetic medicine except metformin 500 and glimepiride 2 mg combo. I also on levofloxacin 500, sodocel 2 per day, nefrozen 2 per day and q ten daily once for low creatinine (currently 3) and afdurs for prostrate once a day, metaxl 50 and celidipin for bp once a day. I used to take human mixtard twice 20 in morning and 12 in the evening but due yo falling sugar levels to ad low as, 70 early in mornings. Please advice medicines for my diabetic, low hemoglobin and high creatinine. Thanks,sincerely

Hello, thanks for the query. I have gone through the details mentioned. You are on multiple medications. In this communication we are supposed to give only general advise, no specific frugs can be recommended or prescribed. You are already on glimiperide 2 mg (whether once a day or twice is not clear). That drug has a tendency to cause hypoglycemia in older people. So that could be one of the reasons for low glucose in the morning. Hemoglobin 7.7% is this only hemoglobin or is it hba1c%? If only hemoglobin then you have definite severe anemia. If it is hba1c% then it is fine for your age. Ideally should be < 7%. So please clarify. If it is anemia, then you will need iron, b12 and folic acid containing capsules to be taken for a few months. Thanks.
