Im asking this for my mother, so all given details are of her. She had two blood tests recently in 1 month gap. Initially she had slight jaundice (1.13), hb-7.6,hepatosplenomegaly. Hospitalize, given 1bottle blood. After 1 month she had fever and in 2nd test hb-10.2,microcytic and normochromic anemia with increased indirect bilirubin and increased sgot &spot, increased esr (from 22 to 65 now, but total leukocyte count decreased (from 6. 6 to 5.8 now. 1st test done in jaundice condition and 2nd test done in fever and loose motion. Now her body is stable but she is too weak to work as before now my question is why rbc size decreased? Why total leucocyte count decreased if the inflammation is still in the liver? Is her condition serious?

low WBC count is often linked to problems with the bone marrow and the inability to make enough white blood cells. Autoimmune diseases that attack your white blood cells can also lead to a low WBC count. Several different prescribed drugs are known to decrease WBC production or destroy WBCs. The decreased quantity of hemoglobin in the RBCs leads to a compromised size of RBCs. It takes time to normalize physiological functioning of organs after hepatic and splenic infections and other issues. I would recommend if you give the support of few herbs like Phyllanthus niruri, Andrographis paniculata, Boerhaavia diffusa, Mandoor bhasma etc you will see a marked improvement in liver, reticulo endothelial system.
