Yes, etizolam is just symptomatic treatment and should be used for temporary/transient relief until any definitive medicine starts showing its effect which usually takes 2-4 weeks. Etizolam, though have less but do have addiction potential up to some extent but the definitive medicines does not have such issues. The most commonly and first line medication for such issues are ssris (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) for eg. Paroxetine, escitalopram, sertraline etc. Which have lesser adverse effects than tryptomer. It's in your best interest if you consult a psychiatrist and let him/her decide whats best for you.
