I?m wondering why I need a x-ray asap. Hi i?m a 15 year old female I have a family that has bunion and as far as I know i?ve had them my whole entire life. I feel down the stairs today and I thought I might of sprained and strained my foot/ankle because it was really swollen but i?ve been having throbbing sensation near my bunion mostly on the back of my feet. I have tried walking but when I do I feel like there?s a bone sticking out and it feels and hurts a lot. I have some bruising near my bunion and I can say that my bunion is pretty severe but I don?t really experience pain. I wondering if this could be a severe thing that I might have to get it checked out.

Hello lybrate-user, if got swelling and unable to walk should take xray to confirm there is no fracture to it. Also put the foot in hot water for 10-15 mins this will relax your feet and helps in walking slowly at first. Do not take risk, avoid complications and take x-ray. Thank you.
