Hi I am 29 years old. I am having high grade fever (103-104) from last 3 days. I took the meds but it is just timely controlling and from today morning i'm feeling loose motion too. I consulted the doc as I felt it's becoz of intestinal infection, he prescribed me monocef 1.5 instead of some gastrointestinal med. I have done few tests also like cbc, tsh, lipid profile, x ray, ecg, usg abdomen, lft, kft, sr. Calcium etc which is normal. I fail to understand y i'm having fever then? Yeah I feel nausea too and i'm lactating mother. I have 4 months old baby kindly suggest me wt can b the reason of fever n can I breastfeed my baby while i'm on high dose antibiotic? Lastly and i'm covid negative.

For any kind of infection, an antibiotic can be preferred. And monocef is safe drug to be used in lactating mothers. This nausea and loose stools are side effects of monocef which will be relieved once you stop the medication. So donot panic. As you already know that you are having gastrointestinal infection, you are having fever. So continue the medication as prescribed to relieve from your fever. And yes, you can feed your baby.
