The medicines are fine except some might prefer giving itraconazole or griseofulvin. To prevent recurrence you need to make sure that the area is kept dry, avoid excessive sweating, wear washed, dry, ironed clothes. Also check if any of your family members or room partners are suffering from tinea too. You need to keep your towels and soap separate. Wash your clothes separately. In some cases tinea can also spread through pets.
