Hi. I was moving my hyoid bone from side to side and pushing on it. Since then, when I swallow on my saliva, I feel something rubbing on mostly the left side of my throat (like a bone/cartilage). It's been going on for 2 days and the sensation has decreased but it's not gone. I don't feel it all when I swallow food/water, it's only when I swallow on nothing or on my saliva that I feel it. I'm worried that I have dislocated something and that I will need surgery. Could that be the case or could the sensation go away?

No need to unnecessarily panic. It is nothing serious. You might have caused a mild irritation while manually playing with your throat. As long as you don't have pain or difficulty swallowing, you need not worry. If there's a minor inflammation it will subside. Avoid pressing hard over the throat for sometime. Drink warm water as it will soothe the throat.
