I have been consulting a Psychiatrist. I was on medicines, Nexito 5 mg and Sizdon LS since last 3-4 yrs. Since last 1.5 months I have tried to stop the medication as I felt was sleepy and less brainwork. I have started feeling irritated and do lot of shouting else at home. Is it because of I stopped medication. Should I continue them, is it bad for long term? Please guide.

It is not good to stop the psychiatric medicines without the permission of your psychiatrist. Some mental illnesses are not curable or lasting for years, which can only be managed to reduce its severity. Most of these medicines have sleepiness as side effects. What would you do if your eye doctor recommends you to wear glasses, otherwise you eye sight will become worse? you will probably accept and follow the advise (if you are a sportsperson and wearing specs will affect your performance). You can modify your work life accordingly, i. E. You can change your job that suits your times of wakefulness.
