Hi sir, my son is 11 months nd weigh 7.5 kg. He had high fever from last three days nd little throat infection. Doc gave ibugesic 2.5 augmentin 2.5 ambrolite 2.5 nd nutrolin b 5. Now fever has decreased to 99/100 but he has got rashes all over the face nd neck nd watery stool from yesterday. Even after a sip of water. Doc told enterogermina 3 times nd z&d 1 ml nd alerid 2.5. But stools r still loose. What should I do now.

It's common after augmentin. If his loose stools are large n frequent please use ors to prevent dehydration. Continue enterogermina. Encourage intake of water n other liquids.

It is probably antibiotic associated diarrhoea, a very commonly encountered problem. Donot worry. Stop syrup augmentin. Give ors, about 75 ml after every loose stool. This is the most important thing, to ensure that the baby doesn't get dehydrated. Continue enterogermina twice daily for 5 days in total. Visit a hospital immediately if the child gets lethargic.
