My mother is 61 years old and is experiencing excruciating pain radiating from forehead to eyes and to jaws from both sides ct scan has revealed no abnormalities. neurologists referred to so far have said everything is normal but the pain subsides only till the effect of medicine last and recurs .mother is a diabetic and having glimepiride 4 mg along with istamet 50/500.

A proper detailed history needs to be assessed like duration of pain, type of pain whether it is pin prick type or associated with any numbness, for how long the pain lasts in each episode is required to arrive at a definitive diagnosis. Further a mri scan may be helpful if ct scan is normal. Pain can be managed by additional drug therapy or interventional pain managemnt procedure where in nerve carrying pain sensations from the region are blocked.
