If tooth is infected then jawline and face swelling may appear after tooth extraction. Apply ice packed in handkerchief over swelling are for 2-3 minutes for 5-6 times a day can be of help. Also, warm salt-water gargles after every meals can reduce the discomfort. Mouth opening exercises should be practices to relieve face muscles spasms caused due to face swelling. Get well soon.

Hi lybrate-user jain, I would like to see the photographs of your father or else a video consultation could be better. Is your father having the same swelling previously before the extraction of the tooth? Or the swelling occurred after the extraction? Some times traumatic extractions might result in swelling and also due to injections I wanted to see the photographs if possible or else the patient on video call if possible for suggesting the best treatment.
