Hello lybrate-user. Proper scaling and root planning is required to reduce the infection on gums. It will help in reducing swelling pain as well as receding gums. Use soft or medium brush. Use twice a day and avoid brushing vigorously. For proper brushing technique consult me privately.

Hey there, the damage caused to the teeth or the gums can not be reversed with any dental treatment but it can be made stand still so that further progress doesnot occur. The proper way to brush is in a circullar motion and not horizontal manner that is commonly practised by us all. The inner surface of teeth is also cleaned by horizontal brush placement and for back teeth a stroke motion where you start from the gum and move downwards in a slow manner. Always use negligible force while brushing and try using a soft or ultrasoft tooth brush. For any query kindly use my personal code gm2c5d.
