I am 54 year old male. I am suffering from recurrent urinary tract infection with suprapubic catheter inserted in urinary bladder 2 months before. I am also taking medication like combination of norfloxacin and flavoxate but there is no improvement. My doctor advised me to have rgu+ mcu test after 6 weeks before inserting spc but due to lighten I am unable to go for the same. I also want to ask whether doctor will perform rgu+ mcu test with infection or not and kindly advice what should I do for infection? My urine culture count is1000000cfu/ml.

No details about original urinary complaints and need for spc. Spc is normally main reason for chronic urinary infection. Because of long duration and resistant infection the battery of test are necessary to find out the cause and successful management. Delay or further infection may have bad effects on kidney function. Hence on top priority and urgency you should follow the doctor's instructions. Difficult times because of covid19. However consult an experienced urologist preferably in multispeciality hospital till problem is resolved. Rgu - mcu rae radiological tests to study urine flow or deformity.
