Hello, I am souvik bhattacharya. My uncle (age-63 yrs) has been suffering from blood sugar and little bit high pressure for more than 4 yrs. 2.5 years back his albumin creatine ratio was 632. So the doctor then prescribed him losium 25 and glycomet gp 0.5.sugar is under control. Hba1c recently is 5.5. But that micro albumin ratio is 1106 and serum creatinine becomes 1.87 .serum urea is 43.9. I consulted a nephrologist. His pressure that day was 140/70. May be for this, the nephrologist changed medicines. Amlodac -5, under- 5 (half) and febutaz 40 given by him. After 1.5 month of taking these meds my uncles pressure is 150/80. I elaborated to get correct suggestion. Considering all the aforesaid parameters what will be your suggestions doctor?

Your uncle was suffering from diabetic nephropathy and according to guidelines bp should be aggressively controlled and to be kept at around 130/80 or below. I would advise to meet your nephrologist and consult regarding the dose increment of amlodac. Regards.
