My mother 60, is having sugar from last 2-3 years. She is using minor dosages of glycomet gp 0.5. Below are before fasting metrics 2019 april 192. 2019 nov 214. 2020 mar 292. As there is a raise in march, and she started complaining about little shivering in eyes and little blur. (nothing serious) I tried taking her to hospital but due to corona pandemic, no hospital here giving her appointment. But one doctor suggested through telephone to use glycomet trio 2 from now. Can anyone help me if I can follow her suggestion by phone call. Also can she use 1 glycomet 0.5 in the day and 1 glycomet trio 2 in the night? Or she should completely use glycomet trio 2 only? Please help me with your valuable suggestions as I am completely struck in this curfew.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have sen the details given. I do not understand why did she not upgrade her treatment much earlier when there was no corona? Her fasting glucose shown has been extremely high. Ideally fbg should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg. Pp should be around 150 to 170 mg & hba1c% < 7% (both pp & hba1c% not mentioned). Her fasting glucose has been extremely high from 2019 april, almost 1 year back. Further there is no mention of following details: weight, height (your own weight and height is mentioned instead of her), no information on dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise or total physical activity in a day, bp readings, lipid profile. Unless all the necessary information is given there is no way to give any suggestion. Plus in this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines, no drugs can be prescribed. If you are looking for online help, then please come in a private conversation (paid consultation), then I will be able to give specific instructions and also prescribe the necessary drugs. Uncontrolled diabetes has a very serious effect on retina (where image falls in the eye), leading to very serious sight affecting condition. I am really surprised that so far she has not visited an eye specialist. Every diabetes patient is advised to get the retina examined yearly to prevent the serious complication of diabetic retinopathy. Choice is yours, whether you want to respond with all the details or not. Thanks.
