Hello. Miscarriage may occur in upto 20% of pregnancy. In most of theses cases there are no specific cause and therefore over treatment is not required in subsequent pregnancy. Progesterone may be used empirically upto 12 weeks of pregnancy anticipating luteal phase defect. Usually micronised progesterone (susten) 200 to 400 mg or dydrogesterone (duphaston) about 20 mg will be sufficient.
