Sir, I am 48 years old man and I am suffering from left shoulder and chest pain since almost 12 years. Initially I use to get pain once or twice a month either in the left shoulder or chest (any part of chest). Gradually the pain and its intensity increased and since @ 2 years the pain is there almost every day. Only the intensity is sometimes minimum and sometimes very high. I have done cervical mri, shoulder mri and x- rays. The pattern and location of pain also keeps varying. Sometimes it is heavy on only the shoulder, sometimes the pain is on the left hand fingers especially the little and the thumb fingers. Sometimes it is on the side of chest or on any part of chest. The pain will be there for hours together and will get away. Sometimes it could be even a for a day or two. Almost every month I visit a cardiologist (when the pain intensity becomes unbearable) and do an ecg. Since almost 7 years I am undergoing tmt test every year. Last year in june 2018, I did a tmt test with my regular cardiologist and it was negative. However since my pain was getting unbearable I visited a corporate hospital to do a master health check by november. There my tmt was declared as positive and hence I did a ct angio (ct slice scanner) which turned normal. This year I did a tmt test by june with my regular cardiologist and it turned negative. All the cardiologist and ortho doctors I visited keep saying it is a muscle related issue but could not find out the exact reason. I even visited a rheumatologist assuming it could be fibromyalgia but he declared it as not fibromyalgia instead suspected it as muscle tightness. I had tried physiotherapy too but the pain does not subside rather gets inflated. The pain is always on the left side only and hence this causes fear (makes me think that it is related to heart). Seek your valuable guidance. Thanks and regards murali ganesh.

Hi lybrate-user, feeling sad and sorry that you are suffering from pain for very long time and not getting relief even consulting so many doctors. Well you didn't mention what come to your mri report of cervical spine? Well considering all your history I am pretty sure that your problem is mechanical. Because it is varying in intensity. That is some time it becomes more and some times it get resolved. Also other test for cardiovascular is normal. I am having simple solution to try for you. And let me know if it is help full 1.try head retraction exercise first in supine 10 times and than in sitting 10 times (search in google or you tube for better understanding). Do this two exercises every two hourly 10 times each for only 1 day if you feel better than continue for next 24 hours and than add extension in to it. For next 24 hours. If exercise is worsening your symptoms than also it suggest that it is mechanical problem and only cured by proper posture and exercises. Hope I am able to clearly explain my self. All the best for your health. Hope speedy recovery for you. Thank you.

It looks like you are anaemic. And also you have to check with your vitamin and calcium, if the bones are weak then automatically the pain gets triggered more as there is less energy during any metabolic activity.
