I am a 56 year old woman who has suffered with all the symptoms of low thyroid. 1 year ago my ts h level was 1.6 now a year later it is 3.6. My doctor started me on 25 mcg of levothyroxine a week ago. I don't feel as tired. My other symptoms are overweight, acid reflux which is now a little better, water retention in my legs, depression, anxiety, moody, cold and hot flashes, outer eyebrows thin, droopy eyelids, I could go on. My question is how long before other symptoms start to get better. I also take prozac, b12 shots, vitamin d. I was taking zandu c but now have stopped because of recall. When I was younger my periods were erratic and heavy. I also had 2 miscarriages. Is this all thyroid related?

Your problem seems to be due to hormonal imbalance or mental stress and not necessarily due to hypothyroidism because both TSH values are with in normal range.
