It cant be done unfortunately. Anticraving medications are given in the morning but not mixed with food. giving disulfiram without knowledge mixed with food is unethical and malpractice which can lead to the person's death.

There is no medicine and as such which can be given with food to cure alcoholism. Alcoholism is an addictive disorder and unless and until the patient himself is willing or is motivated it is very difficult to help him out. Seeing the current scenario it is advisable that the patient (your father) should be admitted in a de addiction centre for now. Pease do not give disulfiram without the patient consent, it has serious side effects and can lead to death also.

There is no such thing at all. He will have to himself agree that he is drinking too much. First he needs to be detoxified then taken up for deaddiction process. Education helps a lot.

It is highly unlikely that your father would quit drinking alcohol if he comes to know that you are adding medication along with his food to treat his drinking problem. The medication disulfiram would definitely cause him to have reaction to alcohol depending on the amount consumed. It would be better to first make him aware of the problems that his drinking is causing to him and his family. If he is motivated, any qualified psychiatrist or a de-addiction specialist will be able to treat him. You can count on us for online consultation. Look forward to hearing from you.
