My baby is 2 and half months old. We have selected painless vaccine name hexaxim but we heard from few of the people and doctor that painless vaccine is little bit less effective than painful vaccine name easysix so now can it be possible to switch the same to painful for next 2 months as same vaccine need to be given in next 2 consecutive months. Painless vaccine mean chances of irritation and fever is lesser than painful but it is less effective compare to painful one. Few doctor has said that one can not switch to painful vaccine after taking painless vaccine as it will eliminate previous vaccine component. And few doctors are saying you can switch from painless to painful so which is right, please suggest.

There is no painless vaccines. 2. The only vaccine that is subject to this confusion is dtp versus dtap. This issue of dtap causing lesser fever has been extending to causing lesser crying and the lesser crying has been reversely attributed to less pain and hence the "painless vaccine" concept. There is no problem in switching from painless to painful and effect will not be lost.
